Welcome to Vancouver-Burrard Presbytery!
The Vancouver-Burrard Presbytery is one of ten within the British Columbia Conference of The United Church of Canada, and one of 91 district/presbyteries across Canada.
Vancouver-Burrard Presbytery is made up of all ordered (ordained, commissioned, lay pastoral minister, or staff associate) clergy (settled in a congregation, retired or retained on presbytery's roll) and one or more lay representatives from each congregation. The work of the Presbytery is to support congregations, provide oversight, to keep them connected, to share ideas and concerns and to learn and share about the ministry and mission of the church.
The presbytery provides oversight also to paid ministry personnel and students in the process of training for ministry, as well as matters related to church property and finances.Presbyters make decisions to support and provide oversight of persons and congregations, as well as participate in the work of the wider church. Presbyters also report back to their congregations.

Request for a Proposal for hiring a Consultant Vancouver Burrard Presbytery
The Vancouver Burrard Presbytery is currently accepting proposals for a Consultant.
The Scope of the position is as follows:
This position will entail recommending, facilitating and bringing to a conclusion a process for making informed, Spirit-led Long Range Plan about mission and ministry and how best to use our resources, including land, buildings, financial and personnel, in support of that ministry.
The process shall allow for consultation with pastoral charge leaders and members of Vancouver Burrard Presbytery and others as determined throughout the process. It shall result in a written Mission and Ministry Strategic Plan, with wide application and ownership, which will guide the work of the Presbytery for the next five to ten years.
